Himalansaari is a small village far away from the main roads. It is located by Lake Saimaa in Ristiina (now part of the city of Mikkeli). As it was long way to go to church in Ristiina, a small village church was constructed in 1915. The church was designed by Kaarlo A. Honkavaara.
