Yeghegnadzor

Yeghegnadzor is the capital of Vayots Dzor Province. Nevertheless, it was rather quiet on a Friday afternoon.

We knew that there is a Soviet era hotel in the city but were told by locals that it was closed. Hence we ended up at Gohar's Guest House in the outskirts of the city. It was ok but nothing particular. Its cost was about 28 euros. Hence it was our most expensive night in Armenia.

To our disappointment, an Italian tourist told us in the morning that the Soviet hotel would have been open too. We would have preferred to stay there.

Yeghegnadzor too has had many different names in the past. Its previous names include Yeghegik, Keshishkend and Mikoyan.
