AIHEITA PHOTOS
Aiheita Photos is a photoblog mostly about different places.
The blog is not updated anymore. New photosets are published at the Albums section of my travel photos site. Single images are added to Picture by picture photo pages.
Liehtalanniemi museum farm is located 14 km from the town of Puumala, Finland. One needs to take a cable ferry to the island of Niinisaari to get there.
The farm was left to the Finnish state when its owner Jalmari Reponen ('Jallu') died in 1976. As not much had been changed there in the previous decades the municipality of Puumala decided to buy the place and establish a museum.
Now one can go to Liehtalanniemi and see how people in the region of Savo used to live about one hundred years ago. My wife, a neighbour and I, we visited there in August. I had previously visited there once but that was about twenty years earlier.
