Vyborg and Saint Petersburg

May 1999 - Geography student's trip to Russia.

Vyborg | Terijoki | St. Petersburg | Karelian Isthmus

Geography students' association of Helsinki University (MaO) arranges often excursions to nearby places of interest. At spring, 1999, we headed to Russia (to Karelian Isthmus and Saint Petersburg).

Vyborg

Our first stop was the city of Vyborg (Viipuri) that used to be part of Finland before World War II.

Terijoki

Our next stop was Terijoki which is also old Finnish territory.

Karelian Isthmus

On the way back we visited some sites in the Karelian Isthmus, e.g. Äyräpää. However, I have already lost the photos I took there.
