Gamla Uppsala

Old Uppsala (Gamla Uppsala) is located few kilometres to the north from modern Uppsala. It was the religious centre of Sweden already in the Iron Age. It is known for its Viking-era royal mounds as well as for Gamla Uppsala Church (see the following page).
