Capucin to Pennville Trail

There is a trail between the northern villages of Capucin and Pennville in Dominica. Before construction of a road somewhat further south, it was the main connection between the villages.

It should take only a few hours to walk the trail but we used whole day for it. Not only had we some bathing at Taffia River but some parts of the trail were covered by fallen trees and loose stones, mostly caused by hurricane Dean. We even got lost for a while in Grand Fond valley.

In the latter part of the trail, we also experienced quite a powerful earthquake (with magnitude over 7 in Richter scale). The epicentre was so deep that it didn't cause extensive damage. Nevertheless, we could feel how the mountains swinged.
