Finnish Lapland | Norway | Back in Finland

Christiane who is a friend of mine from Guadeloupe stayed spring 2000 as an exchange student in Turku, Finland. During her stay we visited other regions of Finland, too. For the Easter Christiane, her daughter Eden, our friend Solenn and I left for Lapland where my parents' summer cottage is located. As it is quite close to Norway we decided to visit there, too.

Norway

On April 21st - the Good Friday - we paid a visit to Norway. Solenn wanted to see the sea and the horizon. We examined our map and it looked like that closest place to see some open sea was at Tromvik fjord. Hence that was to be our destination.

Back in Finland

On Saturday morning when others where still sleeping I went to take few photos of the cottage. Stairs to the sauna were covered by snow and I wanted to get a photo of that. Later on that day Hannu and Santtu (neighbours) accompanied us to a trip to the mountain fells.

We began the return voyage on Sunday 23rd. On our way we also visited Santa Claus near the city of Rovaniemi.
